Food Systems Agricultural Literacy Project
This project was part of the "Agriculture and Food Literacy for Nutrition and Health Professionals" course I took in Spring 2023 by Professor Ashlee Linares-Gaffer.

It was a scaffolded project designed to allow students to explore the agricultural sector and food system from a national to local level and examine how it affects the community and environment health and wellness, with an opportunity to research and advocate for a food systems change in our local community (for me, Yuma County, Arizona). Key areas covered were summary of community health, food insecurity, and nutrition programs, food systems assessment, local political system and food and health and policy making, as well as a call to take action.

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this video, viewers will be able to
1. Describe what gestational diabetes is, in terms of how it affects the body, who's at risk, and how does it increase pregnancy complication risk
2. State three strategies for reducing risk of developing gestational diabetes during pregnancy

Single Overriding Communication Objective: Gestational diabetes is a serious and common complication of pregnancy, you can make diet and exercise choices in order to decrease your risk of developing gestational diabetes and promote your health and your baby’s.
